• thismonth.us — our marketing and licensing website, operated on Odoo, directed at adult educators and administrators
• month.thence.us — our student-facing learning platform, operated on WordPress, accessed by teachers, students, and families

By accessing either site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our sites or services.

2. Who We Are Everyone

This Month™ is an educational platform published by THENCE LLC, a US-based limited liability company. Software development and platform infrastructure are managed by THENCE Sagl, a Swiss entity. All educational content, games, and activities are the intellectual property of THENCE LLC.

3. Intellectual Property Everyone

All content published through This Month™ — including but not limited to games, simulations, lesson plans, instant lessons, e-readers, printables, guides, graphics, text, and brand assets — is the exclusive intellectual property of THENCE LLC and is protected by United States and international copyright law.

You may not:

• Reproduce, republish, or redistribute This Month™ content without written permission
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or create derivative works from any game, tool, or activity
• Remove or obscure any copyright notices, trademark symbols, or attribution language
• Use This Month™ content for commercial purposes without a valid licensing agreement

You may:

• Share Specialized Links with students and families as part of an active license or pilot
• Print platform content for classroom use within the scope of your license
• Reference This Month™ in professional development or grant materials with attribution

This Month™, Wormly™, History's Calling Me™, Time Machine Lab™, Physics Friday™, Miraculous Math Moments™, March Madness for Math™, Shopping Cart Math™, Storm Simulator™, Buzzer Beater™, and TEJ Books™ are trademarks of THENCE LLC. Unauthorized use of these marks is prohibited.

4. Licensing Inquiries and Marketing Site Educators & Admins

thismonth.us is a marketing and licensing site directed at adult professionals. By submitting an inquiry form on this site you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are acting in a professional capacity as an educator, administrator, or organizational representative.

Submitting an inquiry does not create a binding contract or guarantee availability of any product or pricing. Licensing terms are established through a separate written agreement between THENCE LLC and your school, district, or organization.

Information submitted through thismonth.us is governed by our Privacy Statement.

5. Teacher Accounts and Platform Access Educators

Teachers who have been granted access to the This Month™ platform at month.thence.us are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials
• Using their account solely for their own classroom or school use
• Ensuring that Specialized Links are shared only with their own students and families
• Complying with their school or district's acceptable use policy

THENCE LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or is used in a manner inconsistent with the platform's educational purpose.

6. Specialized Links Educators

Specialized Links are encrypted, non-login URLs generated by teachers to share This Month™ activities with students and families. They do not require students or families to create accounts or submit any personal information.

Teachers agree to:

• Generate Specialized Links only for activities within their licensed access
• Share links only with their own students, families, or school community
• Not publish Specialized Links publicly (e.g., on public social media or websites accessible to the general public) without prior written consent from THENCE LLC

7. Student and Family Access Students & Families

Students and families access This Month™ content anonymously through Specialized Links provided by their teacher. No account creation, login, or submission of personal information is required to access or complete activities.

By accessing content through a Specialized Link you agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or tamper with any activity or game
• Use platform content for any purpose other than personal educational use
• Share Specialized Links outside your household without your teacher's permission

8. Student Privacy and FERPA/COPPA Compliance Everyone

This Month™ is designed to be fully compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• No student personally identifiable information (PII) is collected, stored, or processed by the platform
• No student accounts exist on month.thence.us
• All student-facing gameplay and activity completion occurs client-side
• No behavioral data or individual usage profiles are created for students

Under district contracts, THENCE LLC may act as a School Official pursuant to FERPA 34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1) where applicable. In such cases, we maintain direct control over any data use and act only within the scope authorized by the district agreement.

9. Acceptable Use Everyone

You agree not to use any This Month™ site or service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of THENCE LLC or any third party
• Transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download platform content without written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of any This Month™ service

10. Third-Party Links and Affiliates Everyone

This Month™ may include links to third-party websites, including our affiliated bookstore at bookshop.org/shop/this-month-books. These links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement. THENCE LLC is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site.

Purchases made through affiliate links may earn THENCE LLC a small commission at no additional cost to you.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability Everyone

This Month™ services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. THENCE LLC does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, THENCE LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use any This Month™ service.
